The official launch of the Massy Women's Cricket Premier League took place on Wednesday, 31st July 2024, with the presence of the CPL marketing team, members of the Massy corporate group, and numerous players in attendance.

Regional Head of Marketing for CPL, Candace Simmons, made some very interesting announcements. Firstly, all the WCPL games are, for the first time, night matches scheduled for 8 pm. They will all take place at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba. Secondly, the matches would be part of a doubleheader with the West Indies vs South Africa series. There are major efforts being made to increase the popularity of the WCPL with amped-up entertainment and varying promotions catered to all the spectators present.

Massy's Senior VP Ambikah Mongroo gave reassurances that Massy and CPL both share the desire to see the WCPL match the parity of the Men's CPL. When asked to elaborate, Ms. Mongroo stated that support for the games needs to be increased to bridge the gap between the two tournaments. Ms. Mongroo also emphasized the importance of developing female youth cricket and continuing to shine a light on the region's young talent.

The Massy Women's Cricket Premier League (WCPL) is scheduled to commence on August 21, 2024. The double-header matches will take place on August 23, 25, and 27, followed by the finals on August 29.
